The Hallmark Channel's most adorable on-screen couple is back.
When Calls the Heart's stars Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith are bringing their on-screen chemistry to yet another Hallmark Channel feature, The Perfect Bride: Wedding Bells, which premieres June 9 at 9 p.m. Curious to know more about the pair? Here's everything Hallmark Channel fans and #hearties should know about the stars, including the secrets behind their on-screen chemistry and off-screen friendship.
Pascale, 38, and Kavan, 48, are pretty honest about the fact their working relationship got off to a rough start. "We shot a scene one day and she kept trying to shove a spoon full of food into my mouth," Kavan told Home and Family hosts Debbie Matenopoulos and Mark Steines. "[It] was not written in the script—I just thought it would be funny," Pascale added. "It was annoying at first. I was like 'I'm not going to like this actor,' but after about the sixteenth time I was like, 'This is pretty funny.' And then from that point on it become a contest of who could out-humor the other."
Though neither Pascale nor Kevan was featured in the very beginning of the series, both quickly became fan favorites. After Pascale's character, Rosemary, arrived at the very end of season 1, Kavan's character, Leeland, joined in season 2.
Prior to joining the cast of When Calls the Heart back in 2014, Pascale worked on several television series like Smallville, Sanctuary, and Flashpoint. You may have also seen her acting as a guest star on Psych, Royal Pains, and Once Upon a Time.
And before coming to When Calls the Heart and starring in the first and second installment of The Perfect Bride, Kavan acted in Sci Fi's Stargate: Atlantis and Eureka for several seasons. You may also recognize him from the 2010 Hallmark Channel movie Growing the Big One where he starred opposite Shannen Doherty.
Pascale married her husband and fellow actor, Danny Dorosh, back in 2002 and has since given birth to two sons.
While Kavan has mentioned he had a small wedding several years ago, we don't know much about his wife. (The Canadian actor tends to keep his personal life pretty private.)
Their friendship and on-screen chemistry all comes down to one thing: their sense of humor. "We really make each other laugh," Pascale told TV Junkies. "Truthfully, when the two of us are working together we just laugh all the time."
